We stayed in Montelandi with two other families, totalling 14 of us and there was more than enough space to accommodate us all. We flew into Pisaairport and arrived at 2am to be greeted by the wonderful Claudio. The villa was amazing with its vaulted ceilings, large fire places, large rooms and antique furnishings, but the views of the Tuscan hillsides were beautiful and I can only hope that my memory will hold them forever. The pool was well maintained with plenty of sun loungers and there was a herb garden which we used to create lovely pasta dishes. We hired a car and visited Siena, Montalcino and Montepulciano which were also enjoyed by our teenage children. We visited restaurants in the local villages, Buonconvento and Torrenieri and found the locals to be very friendly. All of the families found the holiday relaxing and we do hope to visit again.

We all loved Montelandi. It's a wonderful house and was ideal for our family and all the birthday celebrations. We felt so much "at home" and used every possible corner, both inside and out! The children spent most of the time in the pool, having diving and relay competitions (they all improved enormously) and they created lots of games, built a den just past the veg garden, and we all enjoyed your books and pictures and lovely furnishing.
The views and changing light are spectacular and we sat in the garden stargazing every evening, with John striking up a relationship with a scops owl! He and our son renewed their croquet battles of yesteryear and my daughter-in-law and granddaughter went horseracing 3 times.
With very best wishes.

Our time at Montelandi couldn't have been better. We thoroughly enjoyed the house, the garden, the pool and the whole surrounding area. We took lovely morning walks and visited many of the neighboring towns where we explored, ate, shopped and tasted wines. Claudio was always on hand to answer any questions and take care of things.
Also Alessandra prepared a birthday dinner for us one night and it was outstanding. The weather was warm and lovely and we ate outside in the garden and she prepared a feast and served it beautifully. That was definitely a highlight of our stay.
We will tell lots of friends about the benefits of staying at Montelandi. We have already told some people and have shown pictures to many friends already. It's a truly lovely spot and we would love to come back again one day.

In June, 2010 thirteen of us participated in a house party at Montelandi. We came from Australia, UK and the USA. It was my idea, that we should come together for my significant birthday party, (hate to say how many years! ) and what a wonderful venue for such an occasion the villa proved to be. There were enough nooks and crannies for people to find their private and special spaces, but also large airy spots where we could all come together to celebrate and enjoy each other's company. We organised it so that we had cooking/catering teams who did the daily shop and prepared the food so that everyone else could either just lounge about or go off to the wineries and lovely towns like Siena. We also arranged for the chef, who will come to the villa, to cook for the birthday dinner; and what a feast that proved to be. This was our third trip to Montelandi and I hope not our last.

Thank you once more for your hospitality at the wonderful Montelandi. Julie and I enjoyed celebrating our 10th anniversary here after spending our honeymoon at Montelandi back in 2000. The tranquility, views and home comforts are no less than magical. The location, within easy reach of Montalcino and its glorious vineyards as well as the picturesque and welcoming village of Buonconvento simply add to the home's appeal. Buonconvento is a real treasure with delightful trattorias, coffee shops and and a warm welcome from the locals without any hint of a village spoiled by tourism. The smell of jasmine emanating from the grounds of the garden of the home and the ever changing light from sunrise to sunset over the rolling hills that dominate the landscape are futher reminders of why we will be back and recommend Montelandi as the authentic Tuscan retreat.

We booked the whole villa and the extended family spent a week at Montelandi. We could not have imagined a better suited spot for us. Some spent their days by the pool and reading in the hammock, the rest of us took off in a rented car to visit the hilltop towns and vineyards all within a very short drive of Montelandi. The villa is vast and the rooms furnished beautifully. Although we ate out most nights in the neighbouring villages, we did make use of the large well equipped kitchen to feed the whole family one night. We sat on the terrace out under the stars and enjoyed the views across the valley and over the hills from the garden of the house - so beautiful in the changing light.
